Later on, children, who have received immunization, will be recorded digitally in ASIK, which is also integrated with PeduliLindungi
Jakarta (ANTARA) - Children's immunization history has begun to be recorded digitally with the Sehat Indonesiaku (ASIK) application, Health Ministry's Disease Prevention and Handling Director General Maxi Rein Rondonuwu stated.

"Today, we unveil and start to use the ASIK application to digitally record children's immunization data," he noted through a press statement on Thursday.

This application was unveiled by the ministry through the Digital Transformation Office during the 2022 National Child Immunization Month (BIAN) event in Tanjung Pinang, Riau Islands, on Wednesday.

ASIK is part of the ministry's mission to transform health services by helping health workers conduct patient data recording more efficiently and in an integrated manner within one database.

Moreover, the application can be utilized without internet connection to facilitate health workers in remote and underdeveloped regions as well as to improve data collection on complete basic immunization coverage on children in Indonesia.

Health Minister Budi Gunadi Sadikin explained that the system is similar to the COVID-19 vaccination data collection within the PeduliLindungi application.

"Later on, children, who have received immunization, will be recorded digitally in ASIK, which is also integrated with PeduliLindungi," he noted.

This integration allows parents to access the children's immunization data from anywhere and at any time, even up to several years into the future, he stated.

"When a child needs to show an immunization record for school purposes, all the data can be safely secured within the ministry's database," Sadikin noted.

"We will provide this application to all Puskesmas (Public Health Centers) and health offices, so that the data is also available in every region," he added.

ASIK is being implemented while the 2022 BIAN is ongoing. Health workers in health service facilities conduct data collection while utilizing the application on their phones during immunization.

The 2022 BIAN is held in Sumatra, Sulawesi, Kalimantan, Bali, West Nusa Tenggara, East Nusa Tenggara, Maluku, and Papua since May 2022 and also in Java and Bali in August 2022.
