Jakarta (ANTARA) - The National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN) formed the Young Talent Alumni Program to invite young talents to create a research and innovation community in Indonesia.

During the Young Talents Create Webinar held virtually on Wednesday, BRIN's Head Laksana Tri Handoko noted that the program also serves as an active platform to bolster scientific activity and awareness.

"The goal to realize globalizing research and innovation ecosystem necessitates the involvement of our young talents that we start by creating a community for talents in research and innovation," he remarked.

The Young Talent Alumni Program was formed to create a community for young research and innovation talents, who are alumni of the mentorship programs from research institutions that had been integrated into BRIN.

"Through this program, the alumni can enrich each other's knowledge, share their experiences, and collaborate in research and innovation to develop their regions," he explained.

This community is expected to be able to become an initial habitat for the growth of a strong research culture that can be passed down to the next generation.

BRIN's Talent Management Director, Arthur Ario Lelono, noted that the Young Talent Alumni Program can become a place for talented individuals to inspire and contribute.

To facilitate coordination or communication, these alumni are divided on the basis of regions that are categorized in accordance with their geographic proximity.

These regions comprise the West that covers Sumatra, Java, and Madura; Central that includes Bali, Kalimantan, East and West Nusa Tenggara, and Sulawesi; and East that encompasses Maluku and Papua.
