Banjarmasin (ANTARA) - Tourism and Creative Economy Minister Sandiaga Salahuddin Uno emphasized the need to improve cleanliness of tourist villages in Banjarmasin City, South Kalimantan.

Uno visited Basirih Dome, the tourism village place for pilgrimage, located in West Banjarmasin, Friday. Basirih Dome was featured in the top 50 list of the Indonesian Tourism Village Awards (ADWI) 2022 by the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy.

The Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy has provided trash cans for Basirih Dome, which is the tomb of Habib Hamid bin Abbas Bahasyim, better known as Habib Basirih, who died in 1949.

The trash can provided by the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy for Basirih Dome was part of the CHSE (Cleanliness, Healthy, Safety and Environmental Sustainability) Program.

Uno was delighted to be able to visit Basirih Dome.

There is also a sightseeing tour of Martapura River, he stated.

He noted that Basirih Village in Banjarmasin ranked among the top 50 in the Indonesian Tourism Village Awards (ADWI) 2022 from a selection of 3,419 tourist villages in 34 provinces in Indonesia.

The minister affirmed that the Basirih Dome must be visited not only for its pilgrimage and natural beauty but also for the myriad creative economies in the area.

Uno also paid a visit to the tomb of Habib Hamid bin Abbas Bahasyim.

Hundreds of thousands of people undertake pilgrimages to the tomb, he stated.

"During his life, Habib shared a lot of knowledge," Uno remarked.
