Padang, W Sumatra (ANTARA) - State commercial and trading sub-holding PT Pertamina Patra Niaga Northern Sumatra Regional (Sumbagut) ensures the availability of aviation turbine (avtur) fuel for Hajj flights that will depart through the Minangkabau International Airport at West Sumatra.

Communication Relations & CSR Area Manager at PT Pertamina Patra Niaga Sumbagut, Taufikurachman, stated in Padang on Saturday that his company guarantees fuel supply for airplanes that will fly prospective Hajj pilgrims from four airports in their region.

He explained that in order to meet the requirements of Hajj flights in 2022, his side has prepared additional jet fuel supplies at four airports: Kualanamu Airport at Medan, Minangkabau Airport in Padang Pariaman District, Sultan Iskandar Muda Airport in Aceh, and Hang Nadim Airport in Batam City

"Prospective pilgrims will depart starting from June 4, 2022," he stated.

Taufikurachman explained that the aircraft refueling depots (DPPU) at those four airports are ready to serve and ensure the security of avtur supplies for Hajj flights in 2022.

"We, as an aviation fuel provider, have prepared sufficient and reliable resources in the form of manpower, facilities, and additional avtur supplies," he noted.

Moreover, his side has prepared a total of 154 Certified Refueler Operators (CRO), 59 fueling vehicles, and 46,456 kiloliters (kl) of avtur products to support the needs of Hajj flights embarking from Padang, Medan, Aceh, and Batam.

He stated that prospective pilgrims, who will leave for the Holy Land from the West Sumatra region, will be flown in eight clusters. Meanwhile, prospective pilgrims from Medan will depart in 10 batches, six from Aceh, and 12 stages from Batam.

In addition, he remarked that for smooth operations and the success of Hajj flights, Pertamina Patra Niaga Sumbagut has also coordinated with various parties, including airlines, state airport operator Angkasa Pura, local governments, and related institutions.
