Mul confessed that he was ordered by another suspect Rid in PontianakPontianak, W Kalimantan (ANTARA) - A joint team of West Kalimantan's Provincial Narcotics Agency (BNNP), police, and the border security agency has thwarted an attempt to smuggle 31 kilograms of methamphetamine into the country from Malaysia.
"We have arrested five suspects. They are currently under interrogation," West Kalimantan BNNP Head Budi Wibowo informed here on Tuesday.
The suspects reportedly smuggled the drugs via Paloh sub-district in the West Kalimantan district of Sambas, which borders Malaysia, and carried them to Pontianak city in a car.

The five suspects have been identified by their initials as Mul (44), Maw (38), SRH (20), EP (20), and Rid (47).
They were arrested after the authorities on June 3, 2022, detained three of the suspects in Singkawang and found in one suspect’s cell phone, a video recording of their journey through the Indonesia-Malaysia border.

The drugs were ordered by ER who has been put on the list of wanted persons (DPO), he added.
The suspects were paid Rp5 million to Rp 10 million for every kilogram of meth they smuggled, Wibowo said.
He urged the public to report any suspicious activities in West Kalimantan to prevent drug trafficking in the region.
