The Religious Affairs Office can approvMakassar, S Sulawesi (ANTARA) - The South Sulawesi provincial government has launched the “South Sulawesi Free From Drugs, Find Drug-Free Sons-and Daughters-in Law” Movement as part of the drug eradication program.
Technically, the program will help parents select would-be brides and grooms, who are free from drugs, acting chief of the South Sulawesi Provincial Health Office Bachtiar Baso stated in Makassar on Saturday.
The program, dubbed “Sulsel Bersinar Gencarkan,” comes under the technical control of the Health Office and is the priority program of South Sulawesi Governor Andi Sudirman Sulaiman.

“It is just simple. To get married, would-be grooms or would-be sons-in-law must secure a drug-free certificate from the Health Office after undergoing a screening test at the National Drugs Agency (BNN) Office. The Religious Affairs Office can approve their marriage after they meet all requirements,” he remarked.
Through the program, the South Sulawesi provincial government is committed to curbing and cutting drug circulation chains in the province, he stated.

“In essence, if the youths abuse drugs, we can educate them to abandon the contraband after they get married. It is of no use for their and their families’ future,” he emphasized.
In general, the program encompasses education, rehabilitation, and basic health services for drug abusers, he stated.
During the launch of the program, the BNN Office, Health Office, and Religious Affairs Office signed an agreement to ensure close cooperation and synergy to implement the program.
