Jakarta (ANTARA) - President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy has stated that he was ready to attend the G20 Summit in Bali, Indonesia, in November 2022, via virtual means.

President Zelenskyy stated his commitment during a forum entitled 'Heart-to-Heart', with a number of figures and students in Indonesia, which was conducted online by the largest international relations community in Indonesia and Southeast Asia, the Foreign Policy Community of Indonesia (FPCI), on Friday, May 27, 2022.

A member of Commission VII at the House of Representatives, Dyah Roro Esti, said that she asked about President Zelenskyy's willingness to attend the G20 Summit in Bali, she said in her statement received here on Wednesday.

In response to Esti's question, President Zelenskyy stated that he had to remain with his people in these trying times, thus he could not leave Ukraine and attend the G20 Summit physically.

However, if the G20 Summit organizers wished for his presence, President Zelenskyy expected that a virtual meeting could be conducted.

This forum was the first time for President Zelenskyy to interact with Indonesian and Southeast Asian people in the midst of the Russian military attack on his country.

President Zelenskyy also explained the current situation of Ukraine, which was still under Russian military aggression.

Esti expressed her sympathy for Ukraine's situation and regretted the ongoing Russian military aggression.

"As President Joko Widodo has said, I also expect that the military conflict will end soon and I look forward to President Zelenskyy's presence at G20 summit in Indonesia this year," she said.

Esti also asked President Zelenskyy about the psychological recovery of Ukrainian citizens during the traumatizing war.

He mentioned that apart from the citizens who fled abroad, there were at least seven million Ukrainians affected within the country.

According to Zelenskyy, the conflict has brought Ukrainians from all parts together.

"President Zelensky saw that every Ukrainians was motivated to help each other, such as schools and campuses that accommodate other students although class capacity is full, and people live with neighbors or even strangers," she added.
