According to the task force's data received here on Friday, the country also recorded 344 new COVID-19 recoveries and three deaths.
Ever since the first COVID-19 case was found in Indonesia in March 2020, the country has, so far, recorded 6,059,363 cases, 5,898,384 recoveries, and 156,638 deaths.
With the addition of cases reported on Friday, currently, the country has 4,341 active cases, or patients undergoing treatment and isolation, after being infected with the COVID-19 virus.
The task force also reported that as many as 3,513 people were suspected of having contracted COVID-19.
The data of new cases was obtained after 65,641 specimens from 43,698 people had been tested in laboratories throughout Indonesia. A total of 99,391,159 specimens were tested from 65,572,074 people since 2020.
The daily positivity rate for the specimen category reaches 1.82 percent and the person category at 1.43 percent.
Provinces that reported the most number of new cases on Friday were Jakarta, with 333 new cases; West Java, with 106 new cases; Banten, with 71 new cases; East Java, with 43 new cases; and Bali, with 22 new cases.
The most number of recoveries were reported in Jakarta, reaching 158, followed by 37 recoveries in West Java, 36 each in Banten and East Java, and 23 in Bali.
As part of the efforts to boost community immunity against COVID-19, the Indonesian government launched a nationwide vaccination program on January 13, 2021, targeting as many as 208,265,720 citizens across the country.
According to data provided by the COVID-19 Handling Task Force, as of Friday, June 10, 2022, as many as 200,793,172 Indonesians have been administered the first vaccine dose, 167,997,799 were given the second dose, and 47,459,352 received the booster dose.
