"The KPK urges all officials, with strategic functions in the state administration, to report their personal wealth by the latest three months after taking office," KPK's acting spokesperson for the prevention department, Ipi Maryati Kuding, stated here on Wednesday.
Kuding noted that the state official wealth report, or LHKPN, demonstrates anti-corruption commitment through transparency and accountability in the state administration.
According to Article 5, Paragraphs (2) and (3) of Law No. 28 of 1999 on clean and corruption-, collusion-, and nepotism-free state administration, reporting personal wealth is an obligation of every state official, Kuding pointed out.
The same law necessitates state officials to have their personal wealth checked before, during, and after taking office, she stated.
The spokesperson also urged newly inaugurated ministers and deputy ministers as well as other state officials to prepare a truthful and complete wealth report.
According to KPK Regulation No. 2 of 2022 on amendments to KPK Regulation No. 7 of 2016 on procedures of registration, announcement, and examination of state officials' wealth, only LHKPN that are verified as complete would be announced, Kuding explained.
Earlier, the president inaugurated Zulkifli Hasan as the new trade minister alongside Hadi Tjahjanto, taking office as the minister of agrarian affairs and spatial planning/head of the National Land Agency.
Apart from Hasan and Tjahjanto, three new deputy ministers also inaugurated on Wednesday were John Wempi Wetipo as deputy minister of home affairs, Afriansyah Noor as deputy minister of manpower, and Raja Juli Antoni as deputy minister of agrarian affairs and spatial planning/deputy head of the National Land Agency.
