"I want to explain that there are two types of cooking oil, specifically bulk cooking oil without brands and labels, and branded packaged cooking oil," Hasan stated while monitoring cooking oil trading activities between traders and buyers and reviewing the availability of basic ingredients in the market.
He later explained that branded and packaged oil can be purchased anywhere in the country by anyone who requires it.
"For branded packaged cooking oils, people can purchase it anywhere without special requirements. The prices may vary depending on the brand and liter capacity," Hasan stated.
The minister explained that bulk cooking oil can be bought at a price of Rp14 thousand per liter in the market and not in shops or supermarkets. This bulk cooking oil is available at the Bulog agency or the nearest market.
He later remarked that the ministry had set up 15 thousand points for people to purchase bulk cooking oil.
Furthermore, in order to maintain stability in the prices of bulk cooking oil, buyers are required to show a copy of their identity card for reporting purposes, Hasan stated.
"People are required to show their identity card to buy bulk cooking oil for reporting purposes at appointed agents," Hasan stated.
The minister noted that each person could only purchase one to two liters of bulk cooking oil. Those purchasing above 10 liters must register themselves as cooking oil agents.
During his review of a local market in Donggala, he was also accompanied by Head of Donggala District, Kasman Lassa, and Head of the Industry and Trade Service in Donggala District, Richard A. Djanggola.
