We will continue what our heroes started and passed down, and we will continue our fight to make the police institution betterJakarta (ANTARA) - Indonesian Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo has urged the Indonesian people and youth to carry on with the fighting spirit of past heroes to realize the Golden Indonesia vision by 2045.
"We will continue what our heroes started and passed down, and we will continue our fight to make the police institution better. We will also help our country and nation realize its steps to achieve the Golden Indonesia vision by 2045," Prabowo remarked while presiding over a cemetery visit procession at the Kalibata Heroes’ Cemetery here on Wednesday.
The cemetery visit was a part of Bhayangkara Day, which is commemorated by the police force every July 1.

Prabowo said that through the visit to the heroes' cemetery, he wanted to show his respect for police heroes and personnel who died fighting for the Indonesian nation.
"This procession is our expression of respect to national heroes who devoted their lives to fighting for our independence. A lot of (police) seniors have also been interred at this heroes’ cemetery," the general said.
The procession was also held to pay respect to national heroes who devoted their lives to the Indonesian people, he added.

"Another positive aspect is (that this procession) allows us to pay our respect and pray for our predecessors," Prabowo remarked.
The police chief said that the procession emphasized the need for the current and future generations to continue the spirit of past heroes in defending the nation.
The spirit must serve as a reflection that gives positive energy to the Indonesian people to exert their best effort for the nation and the people, he added.
"This is a legacy that we will pass down to the future young generations," Prabowo remarked.
