Jakarta (ANTARA) - The 29th National Family Day in 2022 emphasizes the culture of mutual cooperation in overcoming the stunting problem, Head of the National Population and Family Planning Agency (BKKBN) Hasto Wardoyo stated.

"National Family Day this year will bring the elements of Pentahelix mutual cooperation, specifically the participation of the government, community, business world, academics, and the media," Wardoyo noted in a written statement, Wednesday.

He remarked that National Family Day, celebrated every June 29, has become a new spirit for his side in improving the quality of families in Indonesia, especially through the culture of mutual cooperation that has become a noble value in Indonesia.

Mutual cooperation was implemented by presenting 34 representative offices of the Provincial BKKBN to the homes of families at risk of stunting throughout Indonesia. Later, Wardoyo will monitor directly and provide direction to the families visited.

“The government is present for the families, who need help. For National Family Day this year, we want to focus on stunting and emphasize mutual cooperation," he added.

The BKKBN also implements mutual cooperation directly in the Stunting Child Care Program. The program inaugurated General Dudung Abdurrachman as an ambassador for foster fathers of stunted children, who became donors for hundreds of children at risk of stunting.

In addition to strengthening cooperation with various parties, the BKKBN mobilizes local products as a solution for balanced nutritious food that can be processed through the Healthy Kitchen Overcome Stunting (Dashat) in every village.

Wardoyo is optimistic that in order to reduce the stunting prevalence rate to 14 percent in 2024, the Stunting Child Care Program can realize the 2022 National Family Day theme, "Prevent Stunting to Realize Stunting Free Family."

"The BKKBN continues to strive in various ways to achieve the national stunting reduction target of 14 percent by 2024," he concluded.
