Jakarta (ANTARA) - President Joko Widodo has emphasized that during extraordinary events, ministers must focus on public services, chief of the Presidential Staff Office (KSP), Moeldoko, has said.

"The President's instruction is very clear; not only yesterday but long before, the President always stressed that the present situation is unusual, a situation that must be addressed more than extraordinarily because the global situation affects domestic conditions," he said here on Thursday.

Moeldoko made the statement while answering reporters' questions about whether Widodo had communicated directly with Trade Minister Zulkifli Hasan about the news that he had campaigned for his daughter, who is contesting for the House of Representatives, Lampung I congressional district.

"Hence, the President has always stressed that ministers must be concerned about providing services to the public," he said.

Moeldoko said the statement was not aimed at any particular minister, but at all members of the Onward Indonesia Cabinet.

"I am not speaking for an individual, but rather to emphasize the President's (message) to all ministers," he added.

On Tuesday (July 12, 2022), President Widodo had said that his ministers have been focusing on carrying out their tasks, including Trade Minister Hasan, who has been asked to lower the price of cooking oil.

"I have asked all ministers to focus on working. I have assigned the Trade Minister to lower the price of cooking oil to Rp14 thousand or below it. That is the most important (thing),” he added.

On July 9, Minister Hasan had invited residents attending an event held by the National Mandate Party (PAN) in Telukbetung Timur sub-district, Bandar Lampung, Lampung, to vote for his daughter Futri Zulya Savitri as she had paid for all the Minyakita-brand bulk cooking oil supplied to the residents.
