Jakarta Police's Public Relations Department Head Senior Commissioner Endra Zulpan stated that the decision was taken to stop the investigation, as the police found no criminal conduct in the findings.
"Until now, we found no criminal conduct. Moreover, the buried rice packages are all damaged," Zulpan stated here, Thursday.
The senior commissioner remarked that the investigation revealed the burial of rice packages, conducted by the staff of private logistics company JNE, was performed as the company's standard practice.
"The reason that they were buried is that it was JNE's standard procedure to destroy damaged items. Hence, the burial aims to destroy damaged items," he noted.

The logistics company, responsible for distributing the 3.4 tons of rice packages, had also replaced the damage to the Social Affairs Ministry, the police officer stated.
He noted that the company had also shown proof of the replacement of the damaged rice packages to the investigator.
The police concluded that as the rice packages had been replaced by the company, the government incurred no losses due to the damage, he stated.
"With the replacement of the damaged rice packages, no losses were incurred by the government, and residents were also not harmed because they still received the benefit," Zulpan remarked.
Earlier, the police had summoned some parties, including State Logistics Board (Bulog), the JNE, and the Social Affairs Ministry, in connection with the discovery of the rice packages, which were found buried in a parking lot in Depok, West Java.
Moreover, official of the Coordinating Ministry for Human Development and Cultural Affairs Andie Megantara stated that the ministry's team had visited the place where the aid rice was buried and found that the buried rice was not fit for consumption, as it was damaged during delivery to the beneficiary families.
