"We need to develop a creative economy ecosystem (in this city) because I see creative economy products (here) are outstanding," the minister stated while visiting the creative cities and districts workshop at the Soeman HS Library, Pekanbaru, Riau, as per the statement received here Monday.
Uno then urged creative economy actors to collaborate with the municipal authority to designate the city's main creative economy subsector whose development can be intensified to support Pekanbaru's inclusion in the Creative Cities and Districts Network.
According to the minister, the city's culinary arts and fashion can be promoted as the main creative economic subsectors of Pekanbaru by the municipal authority.
"All creative economic ecosystems actors can deliberate with one another. Give inputs and make a decision to help the city becomes a creative city to collaborate with other creative economy actors," Uno stated.
He pointed out that creative economy actors must reap opportunities amid economic challenges through digitisation that can bolster the marketing of creative products and ensure the inclusion of various products made by local MSMEs on government e-catalogues.
Meanwhile, the ministry's director of creative economy infrastructure, Hariyanto, reiterated his department's readiness to support creative economy actors in Pekanbaru to achieve the creative city status and be included in the Creative Cities and Districts Network.
"There will be a sample test that we will facilitate and follow up to make Pekanbaru part of the Creative Cities and Districts Network, with main subsectors that have been agreed by all," Hariyanto remarked.
