"Thank God, the Jakarta Government, through the Jakarta Industry, Trade, Cooperatives and SMEs Office, collaborated with Meta Boost to launch the WhatsApp Business and QRIS catalogs for Jakpreneur," Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan delivered the statement via his Instagram handle, @aniesbaswedan, here on Wednesday.
The Jakarta Industry, Trade, Cooperatives, and SMEs Office coached MSME players, especially those who were members of the Jakpreneur Program, so that they could immerse themselves in the digital service.
According to the official Jakpreneur website, a total of 324,442 Jakarta MSME players were registered as members of the Jakpreneur program as per Wednesday.
"They are in need of government support, so in principle, we do not reduce the big ones, but we have to (develop) the small ones," Baswedan affirmed.
The governor expects that MSME players could promote Jakpreneur products in an easier, massive, and popular way through the Jakpreneur Business WhatsApp Catalog.
"We want to help MSMEs in Jakarta, in collaboration with Meta, so that MSME players have a business plan and cover more (of the market). Moreover, 95 percent of (the) economic players in Jakarta are micro and small (businesses)," he remarked.
Moreover, the provincial government had also launched the Jakpreneur QRIS.
The Jakpreneur QRIS was a digital payment innovation for Jakpreneur participants that made it easier for Jakpreneur coaches to monitor the latest marketing transactions through a platform in collaboration with PT Netzme Kreasi Indonesia.
The provincial government also hosted a bazaar involving 77 coached MSMEs at the Jakarta City Hall on August 23-25 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. local time.
