Gunungkidul, Yogyakarta (ANTARA) - Tourism and Creative Economy Minister Sandiaga Uno has said that the ecosystem of Tepus Tourism Village in Gunungkidul, Yogyakarta, has complete facilities, and its development is based on culture and natural beauty.

"Tepus Tourism Village presents a complete tourism attraction by combining natural tourism and cultural tourism and is supported by adequate facilities," he noted at Gunungkidul district, Yogyakarta, on Wednesday.

He expressed the hope that the tourism village would catch up with Nglanggeran in Gunungkidul, which has become one of the best tourism villages in the world.

"One of the (efforts) is being a world-class tourism village with its uniqueness and specialties," he added.

He said that in the future, the development of Tepus Tourism Village must nurture the local culture to support nature tourism, such as at Pulang Sawal Beach.

"Tourism villages must have uniqueness, advantages so that many tourists will visit," Uno added.

In addition to nature tourism, Tepus Tourism Village has numerous creative economy products, he said.

"We will also encourage these products to enter the export market," he informed.

Furthermore, the minister pointed out that the tourism village is located in a strategic area and is not far from Wonosari city, so tourists do not need to spend a lot of money to enjoy its nature, art, and culture.

"The real impact of tourism villages is that they can absorb a lot of manpower. We hope that the development of the tourism sector in Tepus will improve the community's welfare," he said.

Meanwhile, Gunungkidul district head, Sunaryanta, expressed the hope that Tepus Tourism Village, as one of the 50 best tourism villages in Indonesia, would improve local prosperity.

"I would like to thank the minister, especially (assistance) regarding economic development in Gunungkidul," he said.
