"Preparations for the G20 forum venue have reached 100 percent, and we need only to arrange essential furniture and decorations to beautify the meeting hall," Tanjung Kelayang Belitung Tourism Special Economic Zone management officer Daniel Alexander stated in Tanjung Pandan, here on Monday.
The G20 Development Ministerial Meeting, organized under Indonesia's G20 Presidency, aims to discuss development issues in developing countries, least developed countries, and island countries.

Alexander stated that efforts to prepare the venue of the G20 meeting, taking place at the 1,500-square meter tourism special economic zones, are aimed at ensuring safety and comfort to participants from G20 countries attending the event.
Development of the G20 forum venue aligned with President Joko Widodo's (Jokowi's) instruction to ensure environmental sustainability, uphold local wisdom, and prioritize local materials, he noted.
He said that the G20 meeting venue would be called "Kampong Kecit," the local term for small villages developed with the focus on environmental friendliness and sustainability.
"Kampong Kecit" is also the symbol of Belitung residents' warm welcome to the ministerial-level meeting organized under Indonesia's G20 Presidency, he stated.
"Residents are involved to enliven this historical event because this may not occur for another 100 years where representatives and ministers of 20 countries visit our hometown at once," Alexander remarked.
The management officer said local micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) and creative economy enterprises had curated products at par with international standards that will be showcased at the G20 event venue.

"Residents will also exhibit local products and introduce them to (the G20 Development Ministerial Meeting) delegates and potentially be known to 20 countries," he remarked.
He affirmed that delegates of the G20 forum would arrive in Bangka Belitung on Tuesday (September 6).
"A day before the G20 forum, or on September 6, 2022, ministers and delegates from G20 countries will begin to arrive in Belitung," Alexander stated.
