This is an opportunity to emphasize the great potential of Indonesia's maritime economy, which, if utilized optimally, will contribute significantly to the recovery and transformation of the national economyBelitung, Bangka Belitung Isla (ANTARA) - The G20 Development Ministerial Meeting (DMM) will discuss blue and green economy implementation and the future of Indonesian aerospace.
The DMM, which is being held under G20 Indonesia's Sherpa Track, is a high-level meeting that will follow up on the results of discussions of the Development Working Group (DWG) that has met three times.
"This is an opportunity to emphasize the great potential of Indonesia's maritime economy, which, if utilized optimally, will contribute significantly to the recovery and transformation of the national economy," deputy for economic affairs at the Ministry of National Development Planning and National Development Planning Agency (Bappenas), Amalia Adininggar Widyasanti, said here on Tuesday.
The DMM side event will be held in Belitung on September 7–9, 2022, with the theme “The Development of Indonesia's Blue Economy Road Map.”

The DMM side event has three goals: to propose and promote Indonesia's Blue Economy Road Map, to be a forum for sharing the best practices and success stories of countries implementing the blue economy, and to build potential collaboration in the blue economy road map.
The three objectives align with the G20 Development Working Group's first priority, namely strengthening recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic and ensuring resilience in developing countries, underdeveloped countries, and archipelagic countries through the three key pillars of micro, small, and medium enterprises, adaptive social protection, and low-carbon green and blue economies.

Furthermore, the priority has become the basis for one of the DMM deliverables, which is the G20 Road Map for Stronger Recovery and Resilience in Developing Countries, Least Developed Countries (LDCs), and Small Island Developing States (SIDS).
In drafting Indonesia's Blue Economy Road Map, the ministry has collaborated with local and international partners, including the UN Resident Coordinator, International Labour Organization (ILO), UN Environment Programme, ARISE+ Indonesia, and EcoNusa Foundation.
The ministry, together with state-run aircraft manufacturer PT Dirgantara Indonesia, will also hold another G20 DMM side event themed “Harnessing the Ecosystem of Aerospace Industry in Indonesia.”
On the sidelines of this activity, a memorandum of understanding (MoU) will be signed between PT Dirgantara Indonesia and Airbus to support the development of the national aerospace ecosystem.
