Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Health Ministry is planning to push the digitization of health services, including by assisting public health centers in implementing electronic medical records with the help of digital human resources.

At an online press conference that was accessed from here on Friday, expert staff for health technology at the Health Ministry, Setiaji, informed that the ministry will map medical service facilities to determine their digital maturity level.

This will be done as part of the implementation of the Health Ministerial Regulation Number 24 of 2022 on medical records, which mandates the implementation of electronic medical records by no later than December 2023.

"From that point onwards, we will use it to implement policies, which ones first and then which ones need to be improved in digitization. We will also facilitate medical facilities, especially at public health centers that do not have digital human resource capabilities," Setiaji said.

In the future, there would be additional digital human resources at public health centers to implement the digitization of medical services, he added.

At hospitals, there will be no need to add human resources for the implementation of electronic medical records because doctors, assisted by nurses, could input diagnostic data.

"This is what we will pursue so that doctors and nurses can input them right away for an initial examination. So, actually, there will be no addition of new human resources," he informed.

The Health Ministry has made changes to regulations related to medical records, making electronic medical records mandatory in medical service facilities by December 31, 2023.

The new regulation also requires electronic medical records to be integrated with the Health Ministry's SATUSEHAT platform, a part of the national medical service, which would also be integrated with PeduliLindungi.
