There is a Doctor Consultation feature especially on the Mobile JKN application
Jakarta (ANTARA) - President Director of the Social Security Administrator for Health Ali Ghufron Mukti believes that BPJS Kesehatan's digital services have had a positive impact in terms of increasing the utilization of health facilities.

Mukti noted that until September 2021, over 9.3 million services were accessed by JKN-KIS participants through teleconsulting services. The statement was received here on Saturday.

"At the start of the pandemic, there was a decrease in the number of participant visits at first-level health facilities (FKTP). However, to maintain the accessibility of National Health Insurance-Indonesia Health Card (JKN-KIS) participants to FKTP, BPJS Kesehatan has issued several policies, such as allowing JKN-KIS participants to still be able to access services through digital services via Mobile JKN, optimization of direct and indirect preventive promotive activities, and iteration policies for Referral Program (PRB) drugs prescription services," he explained.

Mukti noted that the COVID-19 pandemic had impacted services at the FKTP that also trickled down to the number of visits for services at the hospital. Mukti attributed this trend to concerns among participants of being exposed to COVID-19 at the hospital.

"Before the COVID-19 pandemic, the number of RJTL (Advanced Outpatient) visits reached 8.4 million, but after the COVID-19 pandemic, the average visits totaled 6.4 million," he recalled.

To address this issue, BPJS Kesehatan continues to conduct various innovations and develop services that can be accessed by JKN-KIS participants, especially through non-face-to-face or indirect services, such as the Mobile JKN application, Administrative Services via Whatsapp (PANDAWA), and BPJS Health Care Centers on 165.

“There is a Doctor Consultation feature especially on the Mobile JKN application. Through this feature, participants can consult with doctors, who are at the public health centers or clinic in which they are registered to, in order to (report about) the complaints without having to leave the house," he stated.

BPJS Health also needs support from the government, especially for the BPJS Health partner health facilities, to commit to providing digital service innovations to make it easier for participants to access health services during the pandemic.
