Hence, do not just be proud of being made in Indonesia, but let us buy products made in IndonesiaPadang, West Sumatra (ANTARA) - Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy Sandiaga Uno stated that 21 million MSMEs in Indonesia had been registered in e-commerce.
"The president's target is that 30 million MSMEs had registered in e-commerce, so they will be able to drive the Indonesian economy by 1.7 percent and create two million new jobs," Uno stated here on Friday.
The minister undertook a visit to Padang, West Sumatra Province, to officially close the Proudly Made in Indonesia National Movement (Gernas BBI), themed "SME Rising, SMEs Growing," organized by OJK and attended by OJK Commissioner for Education and Consumer Protection Friderica Widyasari Dewi.
Prior to the movement, only eight million MSMEs were registered in e-commerce. Moreover, an additional 1.3 million MSMEs had registered in e-commerce this year.
He targets that by 2023, some 62 percent of the 30 million MSME players in the country will join the online market.
Meanwhile, he said that the potential for domestic purchase transactions is targeted at Rp500 trillion, with the backbone being MSMEs.
"Hence, do not just be proud of being made in Indonesia, but let us buy products made in Indonesia," he affirmed.
Gernas BBI is a national movement that aims to increase the Indonesian people's love for domestically made products and boost MSMEs.
The event, led by the Coordinating Ministry for Maritime Affairs and Investment, was launched since 2020 and was routinely held every month in different provinces since 2021.
The movement's activities in West Sumatra 2022 were centered in the three cities of Bukittinggi, Payakumbuh, and Padang. The event was officially kicked off by Vice President Maruf Amin at Jam Gadang Bukittinggi on April 12, 2022.
