Pariaman, West Sumatra (ANTARA) - Member of Commission IX of the House of Representatives (DPR) Ade Rezki Pratama said that the Ministry of Health needs to strengthen the data security of its digital health service users so that they do not become targets of hacking.

"The COVID-19 pandemic has presented many health problems. For that reason, the Ministry of Health has created digital-based health services, so that the community can be served well," he said at the Dissemination of Healthcare Management event here, on Monday.

However, because the services are digital-based, there may be hackers who will try to access the ministry's data center illegally and can harm the community's trust in the government.

To this end, Pratama noted that the Ministry of Communication and Informatics must eradicate hackers, both those who come from Indonesia and abroad.

"This problem (hackers) must be eradicated completely, so that no more Indonesian people's data is used illegally," he said.

He also remarked that a strong country is not only seen from its foreign exchange, but also how the country can defend itself from hacker attacks.

According to him, there are still many people in the country who do not know of the existence of digital health services provided by the Health Ministry and how to use them. Therefore, dissemination of information is needed.

Aside from that, there are still many regions that do not have access to the internet.

"Thus, we conduct dissemination so that the services can be known by the community," he said.

Earlier, the Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal, and Security Affairs, Mahfud MD, announced the formation of a data protection task force to prevent data, especially state-related data, from being leaked or hacked.

The formation of the task force involved the National Cyber and Encryption Agency (BSSN), the State Intelligence Agency (BIN), the Ministry of Communication and Informatics, and the National Police.
