Jakarta (ANTARA) - Minister of Youth and Sports Zainudin Amali officially opened the 2022 Solidarity Sport Fest held by the Indonesian Youth Solidarity at the Ministry of Youth and Sports Multipurpose Building here on Monday.

The 2022 Solidarity Sport, which targets the majority of youngsters, features a number of sports matches, such as bowling, golf, basketball and e-sport.

The people from the organization chose the correct form of activities since the implementation of an event necessitates the participation of other parties, Amali noted in a statement on Monday.

However, if the events are held solely based on the organizer's preference and desire and they do not fit, then they would not reach the desired target.

"According to survey results, activities that youngsters like the most are sport, music, film, and culinary," he noted.

"By holding this event, the organization already knows the way to reach youngsters with activities that match what they want."

He urged the organization to no longer change the format of the activities, if it decides to hold the Solidarity Sport Fest again in the coming years.

"Maintain the format. If there are changes, it should be done in the form of adding the number of activities," Amali said.

According to the minister, the event can also produce future athletes at the national level.

Thus, the event is held not only for entertainment purpose, but also to produce sport achievement and for economic purpose, much like how many sport activities drive the economy, he added.

The 2022 Solidarity Sport Fest is being held in a number of locations in Jakarta until September 25, 2022. However, the bowling match had already ended on Sunday.
