Soesatyo expressed concern over the recent arrest of a Supreme Court justice implicated in alleged bribery in court case handling, saying it proved that the court mafia has not been eradicated.
"Meanwhile, we also need to commend the KPK's performance for successfully unveiling this case. This is a stern warning for the Supreme Court and other law enforcers to not violate any law," the speaker said here on Saturday.
Any court cases handled by the suspects must continue and be presided over by professional apparatus, he said, adding that those who have been proven guilty must face the legal consequences.
"Law enforcement (against the suspects) must be transparent, and there must not be a cover-up. If proven guilty, suspects must receive their consequences before the law," Soesatyo said.
The bribery case that has unraveled at the Supreme Court is a wake-up call for the institution to improve itself, he added.

He further highlighted that in the law supremacy index published by the World Justice Project in 2020, Indonesia placed 59th out of 128 indexed countries. The countries were assessed on law enforcement and criminal and civil court processes, among other benchmarks.
"Moreover, the Indonesia Political Opinion survey result in October 2020 revealed that public dissatisfaction level with the legal enforcement process in Indonesia reached 64 percent; this highlighted that legal enforcement in Indonesia still has many issues," Soesatyo said.
The government and law enforcers currently have a huge task to improve public trust in the legal enforcement process in Indonesia through real action, he added.
Early on Thursday (September 22), the anti-graft commission had carried out a raid against several suspects in connection with an alleged bribery case in the Supreme Court in Jakarta and Semarang. During the raid, police confiscated Rp50 million and S$205 thousand in cash.
Ten individuals have been named suspects in the case, including Supreme Court justice Sudrajad Dimyati, judiciary judge Elly Tri Pangestu, other Supreme Court officials, and several private parties.
