The strategic partnership between the Judicial Commission and Supreme Court is the key to maintaining the judges’ dignity in deciding the cases.
Jakarta (ANTARA) - Strategic partnership between the Judicial Commission (KY) and Supreme Court (MA) is the key to maintaining dignity of the judges in deciding the cases, according to President Joko Widodo (Jokowi).

The partnership can restrict or even stop the movement of judicial and other mafias, the president noted while virtually attending the annual report of the 2021 Judicial Commission from the State Palace here on Wednesday.

“Strategic partnership between the Judicial Commission and Supreme Court is the key to maintaining the judges’ dignity in deciding the cases, so that we can restrict and stop the judicial mafias and other mafias that break the trust on them and judicial institutions as well as hurt justice for the public,” the head of state remarked.

To this end, the president lauded the duo that had formed a liaison to bridge the gap in communication between them, especially for finding solutions once differences in opinions arose.

“(It) will also offer a concrete contribution to realize justice for all Indonesian people,” Jokowi noted.

KY plays an important role in conducting judicial reform in a bid to bolster the state’s justice in reforming the system and enforcing a corruption-free, dignified, and trusted law, he stated.

“The Judicial Commission should be able to function as an independent external monitoring body, so that the independent judicial power can align with the judicial accountability,” the president affirmed.

Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal, and Security Affairs Mahfud MD; Law and Human Rights Minister Yasonna Laoly; and Cabinet Secretary Minister Pramono Anung accompanied President Jokowi at the State Palace.
