The rest are competing in SenayanJakarta (ANTARA) - The Executive Board of the Indonesian Shooting and Hunting Sports Association (PB Perbakin) held the first qualification for the shooting sport at the 2024 National Sports Week (PON) XXI Aceh-North Sumatra.
Committee Chairperson Purwadi Santoso remarked that the championship was attended in hybrid format -- online and offline -- by 690 participants from 27 provinces across the country.
"Some 210 participants from 12 provinces participated in this event online, and at each location, there are judges on duty. The rest are competing in Senayan," Santoso told reporters here on Monday.

The first qualification is being held as part of the National Shooting Championship at the Senayan Shooting Range, Jakarta, from September 26 to October 2, 2022
He also noted that the "2022 National Sports Day (Haornas) - National Shooting Championship" was the first of the eight qualification events for the 2024 PON.
"The qualification for the 2024 PON is not just once. This year, it will be held thrice, and next year (2023), the plan is five times. After that, the (stage of) quota distribution is based on rankings," he explained.
Overall, the qualification offers 270 tickets for 35 branches of shooting contested at the 2024 PON.

"Each province can send three athletes in one branch. Later, the minimum qualification score (MQS) will be determined," Santoso remarked.
Some of the shooting branches that are contested comprise the 10-meter individual air rifle, 25-m individual rapid fire pistol, 300-meter individual standard rifle, 10-meter air pistol, and group 50-meter rifle 3 positions.
Last year, the West Java contingent emerged as the overall champion in shooting at the 2021 PON Papua by securing a total of 11 gold, two silver, and six bronze medals from 38 competition numbers.
