Badung, Bali (ANTARA) - Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture Muhadjir Effendy has invited the people, including the younger generation, to interpret and practice the values contained in the nation's ideology, Pancasila.

Pancasila has faced tests many times, but it has continued to succeed in maintaining its existence and national integrity, he explained while leading a Pancasila Sanctity Day ceremony at SMA Negeri 2 Mengwi public high school here on Saturday.

"That is why the Indonesian nation is obliged to commemorate the Pancasila Sanctity Day in order to understand, interpret, and implement the values of Pancasila as well as possible," he said.

In his speech, he explained that the commemoration of Pancasila Sanctity Day every October 1 holds a very deep meaning in the Industrial Revolution 4.0 era.

"We are entering a new era that never happened before, but more importantly, I ask the students to uphold and live the meaning of Pancasila," he remarked.

According to Effendy, there are six dimensions of the Pancasila that need to be applied to unite Indonesia: faith in God, unity in diversity in the global environment, independence, cooperation, critical thinking, and creative reasoning.

"The students (are expected to) understand, live, and translate the noble guides in daily life," he said.

Meanwhile, on a separate occasion, Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal, and Security Affairs, Mahfud MD, said that Pancasila has always been the agreed state ideology of the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia (NKRI).
