Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Ministry of Health has finished the process of recounting the death toll and the number of people injured in the unfortunate stampede that broke out at Kanjuruhan Stadium, Malang, East Java, on Saturday evening.

"Now, all victims have been identified, whether they are wounded or have passed away. Until this afternoon, the data is already final," head of the ministry's communication and public service bureau, Siti Nadia Tarmizi, confirmed here on Monday.

Based on reports verified by 25 local health service facilities that handled the victims, 219 people suffered mild to moderate injuries and 68 people were severely wounded in the incident.

"Those who are currently being treated reached 26 patients and 125 people have passed away," she informed.

The reports came from Kanjuruhan Hospital, Gondanglegi Hospital, Hasta Brata Batu Hospital, Dr. Saiful Anwar Hospital, Wajak Husada Hospital, Mitra Delima Hosptial, Wava Husada Hospital, Tejahusada Clinic, Ben Mari Hospital, and Sumber Sentosa Hospital.

The reports were also sourced from UMM Hospital, Prima Husada Hospital, Salsabila Hospital, Pindad Hospital, Lawang Hospital, Soepraoen Hospital, Hasta Husada Hospital, Bokor Turen Hospital, Supraoen Hospital, Aisiyah Hospital, Lavalette, Pantinirmala, UNISMA Hospital, and Kota Malang Hospital.

Earlier, Indonesian National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo had informed that the number of victims who died in the Kanjuruhan Stadium stampede stood at 125.

Before the data was updated, the number of dead was stated to be 129, but a verification showed that some people had been counted twice.

Currently, the police are conducting further investigations into the incident that claimed the lives of more than a hundred people. The police will conduct a complete investigation of the incident, he assured.

The stampede at Kanjuruhan Stadium occurred following a match between Arema FC and Persebaya, which ended with a score of 2-3. The incident is still being investigated by the police and related authorities.
