Jakarta (ANTARA) - Minister of Women's Empowerment and Child Protection Bintang Puspayoga urged all parties to collectively realize women- and children-friendly football stadium.

"Match organizers should have a protection guideline or protocol for vulnerable groups, specifically children, women, and people with disabilities," she noted through a statement on Tuesday.

Puspayoga expressed her deepest condolences over the loss of lives in the incident after the match between Arema and Persebaya at Kanjuruhan Stadium, Malang, East Java, Saturday, especially since there were women and child victims.

Puspayoga's ministry noted that 33 children, comprising eight girls and 25 boys, in the age bracket of four to 17 years, died in the tragedy at Kanjuruhan Stadium.

Puspayoga expects similar incidents to not recur. To this end, the dissemination of information to supporters should be intensified, so that in future, football matches can be enjoyed without harboring any concerns.

Malang Women's Empowerment, Child Protection, Population Control, and Family Planning Social Office (Dinsos P3AP2KB) along with the Malang Regional Disaster Mitigation Agency opened an assistance service hotline for victims and families in the Kanjuruhan incident.

The assistance is provided in accordance with the need, starting from early psychological assistance in collaboration with the Indonesian Psychologist Association (Himpsi) and universities involved in the handling of women- and child-related problems as cross-cutting issues.

The ministry coordinates with the East Java and Malang Women's Empowerment, Child Protection and Population Office in handling women and child victims.

Meanwhile, data collection on victims was still being conducted and will be followed up on with the victims' outreach process.

Through a separate statement on Tuesday, Minister of Sports and Youth Zainudin Amali stated that the handling of victims of Kanjuruhan tragedy was proceeding well.
