Bogor, West Java (ANTARA) - Indonesian U-17 national team gave special appreciation to Palestine after the two teams competed in the 2023 AFC U-17 Asian Cup Qualification Group B match at Pakansari Stadium, Cibinong, Bogor, Friday evening.

"We want to provide support to our brothers from Palestine. They suffer so much," Indonesian U-17 national team coach Bima noted after the match.

Few minutes after the match was over, the Indonesian U-17 national team formed a line in front of Palestine's bench.

After the opposing team also formed a similar line, the Indonesian squad then greeted and hugged all Palestinian officials, including the coaches and players.

At the same time, the Indonesian team also gave training jerseys as souvenir to the Palestinian team.

"We give the training jerseys to coaches, officials, and players, including the substitute players. We expect that it would raise their spirit to revive," he stated.

The Indonesian U-17 national team also thanked the Palestinian team for the match, he stated.

Observing Indonesia's approach to their squad, Palestinian U-17 national team's coach Loai Alsahehi admitted that he did not expect to see it.

On behalf of his squad, he thanked the Indonesian team, saying that he felt Indonesians' love for the Palestinians.

"In here, we feel like we are at home. Indonesians are very nice and love Palestine. We are very grateful," he remarked.

Palestine failed to qualify for the 2023 U-17 Asian Cup after the team was defeated by Indonesia with the score 0-2.

The score came from Palestinian defender Ibrahim Alfuqaha's goal and Indonesian left defender Habil Abdillah Yafi.

The victory placed Indonesia at the top of the standings in the 2023 AFC U-17 Asian Cup Qualification Group B, with nine points.
