The next step involves regulations on safety, security, and standard operating procedure (SOP) on securing football matches that have been prepared with parties, such as related ministries, the police, and PSSI, Prasetyo noted.

The tragedy at Kanjuruhan Stadium, Malang, East Java, began when thousands of home team Arema FC's supporters entered the field after their team lost against Persebaya with the score 2-3.

Disappointed Arema FC supporters dashed to the field to look for players and officials.

Security officials then undertook prevention efforts, so that supporters do not enter the field and go after players. In the process, the officials ended up firing tear gas.
