The government needs to make early detection efforts to prevent the negative effects of radicalism and terrorism as well as improve monitoring, so that state civil servants stay away from radicalism and terrorismJakarta (ANTARA) - The People's Consultative Assembly (MPR) Chairman Bambang Soesatyo urged the Government and Special Detachment (Densus) 88 Anti-terror Police Headquarters to conduct comprehensive investigation of the case of a state civil servant allegedly involved in terrorist networks.
"I urge the Government and the National Police to thoroughly investigate the state civil servant in question and take firm action in accordance with the applicable laws and regulations," Soesatyo noted in his statement here on Monday.
The MPR chairman also urged the government to take preventive measures to put a halt to the spread of terroristic ideology, especially in government circles. According to Soesatyo, the government must also stress that state civil servants should not become involved in terrorism and radical acts.

He urged the government, through the Administrative Reform and Bureaucratic Reform Ministry, to create a bureaucracy free from radicalism and terrorism. In addition, the Government should implement various related policies, so that state civil servants could avoid radicalism and terroristic thoughts.
Head of the Sampang Police, East Java, Adjunct Commissioner Arman confirmed the arrest of the state civil servant, with the initial S, by the Special Detachment 88 Team for allegedly being involved in a terrorist network.

S is a teacher at the Gunung Sekar State Elementary School, Gunung Sekar Village, Sampang District, on Madura Island, East Java.
S was arrested around the Trunojoyo Monument area, Sampang City, on Thursday, October 13. The police then searched S' house, located on Jalan Merapi, Rongtengah Village, Sampang City. Some pieces of evidence in the form of books on terrorism and radicalism were also confiscated by the personnel.
