I express my deep condolences to the victims who died and were injured due to floods and landslides that occurred in several regions in Indonesia
Jakarta (ANTARA) - House of Representatives' (DPR's) speaker Puan Maharani urged the government to focus on saving and providing assistance for victims of floods and landslides that struck several regions in the country.

"I express my deep condolences to the victims who died and were injured due to floods and landslides that occurred in several regions in Indonesia," Maharani noted in a statement here on Tuesday.

Maharani conveyed the statement in connection with data from the National Disaster Mitigation Agency (BNPB), which reported 76 natural disasters, from floods to landslides, in the past week. Floods and landslides have claimed 13 lives.

The speaker assessed that the government, along with relevant stakeholders and the search and rescue (SAR) teams, should channel all attention on rescuing victims and ensuring that the missing victims can be found.

In addition, she called on the community to remain vigilant and monitor weather information from the Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency (BMKG).
