Jakarta (ANTARA) - Chief of the Presidential Staff Office (KSP) Moeldoko has said that the Indonesian government has prepared several scenarios to anticipate possible challenges posed by global crises in 2023.

"In principle, the government has readied various scenarios for 2023," he informed, according to a statement issued on Friday.

At a virtual discussion on government achievements in 2022, the KSP chief said that the government will adhere to its plans while facing possible risks due to global crises in 2023.

President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) has underlined that the Indonesian nation must remain optimistic while maintaining vigilance, he added.

"In this critical situation, the President is focused on ensuring that our development is on the right track and adhering to the established RPJMN (national middle-term development plan), yet we still have room for adjustments on its implementation," Moeldoko said.

Residents must remain calm and not be concerned by ongoing global economic issues, he said, adding that Indonesia has learned to handle the COVID-19 pandemic, for instance, by budget refocusing, and it will be ready to face crises in 2023.

"(To handle) the pressure of the COVID-19 pandemic to our pandemic, we have disbursed a total of Rp1 thousand trillion in the recent two years. The value is the same as building two new capitals, but we are ready to refocus our budget," he affirmed.

The COVID-19 pandemic and geopolitical crises have posed major issues in the food, energy, and global financial sectors, and the government has taken effective anticipatory measures against the three issues, Moeldoko said.

The government has developed various infrastructures to bolster food production to prevent food and energy crises, and to handle a possible financial crisis, the President has instructed regional leaders to help control inflation in their respective regions, the KSP chief added.
