Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Jakarta Health Office distributed 204 thousand doses of the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine to several public health centers (puskesmas) in the capital city to bolster the existing COVID-19 vaccine stocks.

"Last night, we have already received a shipment of 34,125 Pfizer vaccine vials, which is equivalent to 204 thousand doses," Head of the Jakarta Health Office Widyastuti noted here on Friday.

Widyastuti explained that one vial of the vaccine can be used for six people with full dose.

The vaccine distribution process was undertaken based on the region scheme or through puskesmas to facilitate data recording.

Meanwhile, according to data from the Health Ministry through the COVID-19 vaccine stock website, until Friday, 8:00 a.m. local time, the vaccine stock totaled 21,124 doses.

Given that the average vaccination reached 1,555 doses last week, the stock is estimated to last until the next 13 days.

Meanwhile, the first and second dose vaccination achievement in Jakarta has exceeded 100 percent, while that for the third dose had reached almost 70 percent.

Earlier, for the last several weeks, the availability of COVID-19 vaccine in Jakarta had declined.

The Jakarta Health Office then decided to have the vaccination location centered at the sub-district level based on the available stock.

Meanwhile, COVID-19 vaccine allocation from other regions did not yet exist, as the supply in several regions across Indonesia also decreases.

Acting Governor of Jakarta Heru Budi Hartono then communicated with Minister of Health Budi Gunadi Sadikin in connection with the COVID-19 vaccine allocation.

He explained that Jakarta becomes the priority for COVID-19 vaccine distribution.

"The ministry has already given priority to Jakarta," he stated.

Earlier, during the COVID-19 Handling Development press conference on Thursday, the COVID-19 Handling Task Force reported that the Ministry of Health plans to add millions of doses of vaccine stocks by the end of October 2022.
