"God has given an extraordinary abundance of resources in Central Sulawesi. There is nothing lacking. Hence, there should be no poor people there," Chief of the Presidential Staff Moeldoko stated while meeting Central Sulawesi Governor Rusdy Mastura here on Wednesday.
Moeldoko affirmed that geographically, Central Sulawesi is located in proximity to the new capital Nusantara, so it is important to accelerate economic development there, as it becomes a buffer area for the capital.
He also invited all relevant parties to work together in speeding up the cluster-based or zone-based economy in Central Sulawesi, so that the province can become a buffer area for IKN Nusantara, especially in the food, industry, and tourism sectors.
Based on the KSP data, economic development in Central Sulawesi is divided into four regional clusters, with the first being the Bolipamuso "agropolitan" or cluster that focuses on agriculture and the Nusantara Food Zone (KPN) in the districts of Buol, Tolitoli, Parigi Moutong, Donggala, and Sigi.
The second is the Pasigala urban cluster comprising Palu City, Sigi, and Donggala. This cluster focuses on the development of Special Economic Zones, the construction of disaster-prone areas, as well as geo-tourism and green economy.
The third cluster is the Morubang sustainable industrial area located in the districts of Banggai and Morowali, while the fourth cluster is Balatoju marine tourism and fisheries in the districts of Banggai Kepulauan, Banggai Laut, and Tojo Una-Una.
Meanwhile, Governor Mastura expressed gratitude for the central government's attention to economic progress in Central Sulawesi.
"Now is the time for Central Sulawesi to focus on its economic development," he affirmed.
