According to data from the Ministry of Transportation, the potential for national public mobility during the Christmas and New Year holidays is 22.4 percent of the total Indonesian population, or as many as 60.6 million people.
“We instruct (managers of) favorite tourist destinations and creative economy centers to prepare themselves well by continuing to innovate, adapt, and collaborate because the previous crisis has been replaced by the potential extreme weather situation,” he noted at the Weekly Brief with Sandi Uno event, according to an official statement here on Friday.

According to Uno, public mobility is projected to reach 12.3 percent, or around 7.5 million people, in the Jakarta, Bogor, Depok, Tangerang, and Bekasi (Jabodetabek) areas.
Ancol, Ragunan, and Taman Mini Indonesia Indah (TMII) tourist destinations in Jakarta are projected to receive an influx of tourists. Meanwhile, in Bogor, the Puncak area will receive several visitors, as it has always been a popular destination for tourists.

“Bali and five super priority destinations and tourism villages must also get ready to welcome tourists,” he remarked.
For foreign tourists, it is estimated that several travelers from the United States and Austria will make the most of the Christmas and New Year holidays to travel to Indonesia. In addition, there are tourists from the five countries of Australia, Singapore, Malaysia, India, and the UK that contribute the most tourists to Indonesia.
“We appeal to regional governments and tourism business associations to support the Christmas and New Year time as a momentum for recovery and ready the tourist attractions and creative economy centers as well as the supporting facilities,” he remarked.
