"Last Monday was the highest peak for VVIP aircraft arrivals, both state and regular international, but arrangements of VVIP and regular flights still go well," she noted in a statement received here on Tuesday.
According to data from the Directorate of Air Transport, Directorate General of Civil Aviation at Transportation Ministry, a total of 31 VVIP aircraft and supporters arrived at the Ngurah Rai Airport on Monday, November 14, 2022, from morning to evening.
Among the state guests arriving were Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, whose plane arrived at 11:46 a.m. local time, President of the People's Republic of China Xi Jinping at 15:01 p.m. local time, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau's plane at 3:24 p.m. local time, French President Emmanuel Macron's plane at 4:02 p.m. local time, and Singapore Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong's plane at 11:30 p.m. local time -- the last VVIP plane to land on Monday.
On Monday, Transportation Minister Budi Karya Sumadi also welcomed some arriving state guests: Brazilian Foreign Affairs Minister Carlos Alberto Franco França, Prime Minister of Cambodia Hun Sen, Prime Minister of Italy Giorgia Meloni, and Suriname Foreign Affairs Minister Albert E. Ramdi.
On Tuesday, some VVIP planes and state guests, included World Bank President David Malpass, who arrived at 00:34 a.m. local time; FIFA President Gianni Infantino, who arrived at 5:06 a.m. local time; and the plane of the Crown Prince of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Mohammed bin Salman, who arrived at 6:59 a.m. local time.
Regular flights at Ngurah Rai International Airport, both domestic and international, ran relatively smoothly according to the predetermined flight slots.
"The rate of on time performance (OTP) for domestic flights reached 68.78 percent. We have coordinated (extensively) with airport managers and airlines to prepare (services for) flight customers, such as providing compensation for delays, requests for schedule changes, to handling flight ticket refunds," Irawati elaborated.
The ministry's spokesperson said that on Monday, 130 slots were available, with a capacity of 21,817 seats for domestic regular flights. The rate was 57 percent of the normal period, which was capped at 230 slots, with a capacity of 39,221 seats.
As for international flights, 122 slots were available, with a capacity of 39,588 seats, which is 77 percent of the normal period, or 159 slots, with a capacity of 38,040 seats.
