Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Communication and Informatics Ministry (Kominfo) and the Home Affairs Ministry have jointly launched a Digital Literacy Massive Open Online Course (MOOC) via the Integrated Apparatus Superior Competence Information System (Sikuat) Learning Management System (LMS).

“The government sector Digital Literacy MOOC provides a concrete example of digital transformation collaboration between the Home Affairs Ministry and the Kominfo Ministry," Director of Informatics Empowerment at the Kominfo Ministry, Bonifasius Wahyu Pudjianto, said in a statement released on Wednesday.

Sikuat LMS, which is owned by the Home Affairs Ministry, can be accessed anytime, anywhere, and through any device.

The digital literacy learning material on Sikuat LMS has been created based on four digital literacy pillars: digital skills, digital security, digital culture, and digital ethics.

Sikuat LMS will also build users' understanding of the digital literacy material evaluation feature. Users will also receive a certificate that can be downloaded from the LMS after finishing the digital literacy learning process.

The head of the Home Affairs Ministry's Human Resources Development Agency (BPSDM) lauded the Kominfo Ministry’s efforts to help conduct digital literacy activities for state civil apparatus (ASN).

The efforts align with Government Regulation No. 17 of 2020, which states that all civil servants have the right and responsibility to develop their competence through at least 20 learning hours.

"Based on our experience in bureaucracy reformation evaluation related to employee competence index, we acknowledge that this is not easy," he remarked.

"Hence, when the Kominfo Ministry asked us to conduct digital literacy through MOOC, this became an offer that had to be supported because, through this, the target (of minimum learning hours) can be achieved," he added.

Government segment Digital Literacy Activity is one of the series of activities within the Indonesia Makin Cakap Digital (Indonesia Becoming More Digitally Skilled) program initiated by the Kominfo Ministry.

The program aims to make 50 million people digitally literate by 2024.
