Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Jakarta provincial government is accelerating the provision of the booster dose vaccination service to suppress the rise in the number of COVID-19 positive cases.

"In Jakarta, the first, second dose vaccination is already good, but the booster rate still has to be bolstered," Head of the Jakarta Health Office Widyastuti noted here, Thursday.

Through the Jakarta Health Office's social media account, the office notified vaccination locations and centers, including the service for third dose vaccination.

The COVID-19 vaccination locations include public health center (puskesmas) in the village and sub-district as well as hospitals in the capital city.

The public can head directly to the location to register or through the Jakarta Kini (JaKi) application.

Moreover, she appealed to the public to be cautious by implementing health protocols despite the fact that the Public Activity Restriction (PPKM) status in Jakarta is at level one.

"The point is that we should still remain cautious and remind you that COVID is not yet over, although the PPKM is at level 1," Widyastuti remarked.

"However, we still remind you that health protocols should be maintained," she noted.

The rise in COVID-19 cases is estimated to be caused by a variety of factors, including new variants, such as the XBB subvariant of COVID-19, she added.

Meanwhile, based on the Jakarta Health Office's data uploaded through the website corona.jakarta.go.id, as per November 16, 2022, the number of treated COVID-19 cases had reached 1,172.
