I am still thinking about how this can become a permanent establishment
Badung, Bali (ANTARA) - Communication and Informatics Minister Johnny G. Plate on Thursday said that he is considering making the Digital Transformation Expo (DTE) a permanent exhibition.

He made the statement following the positive response to the technology exhibition, which was hosted as a side event of the G20 Summit in Bali.

"This DTE is one of the events prepared for the G20 Bali. But because many people like the look of DTE, they asked to make it permanent, and if it is permanent, it should be in Jakarta, and I am considering it," the minister informed at the Bali Nusa Dua Convention Center, Badung, Bali, on Thursday.

If the expo becomes a permanent exhibit in Jakarta, then his administration will manage it firsthand, with support from the ecosystem of the ministry, he said.

The Digital Transformation Expo initiated by the Communication and Informatics Ministry has evoked a positive response from many people.

Tourism and Creative Economy Minister Sandiaga Uno, who visited the exhibition, said that DTE is an extraordinary exhibition.

He lauded the application of metaverse and augmented reality technology at the public exhibition.

Uno said he expected the exhibition to not only be hosted at the G20 Summit, but continuously at the venue to promote and market Indonesian tourism.

"I am still thinking about how this can become a permanent establishment," he added.

Trade Minister Zulkifli Hasan shared the same opinion, saying that he was amazed by the audio-visual display at the expo.

"From the beginning, I see that (DTE) is great, what's showed from the Communication and Information Ministry was very cool, what was broadcast just now," he remarked.

The DTE exhibition was hosted at the Bali Nusa Dua Convention Center, Pecatu Hall 3 and 5, Badung, Bali, from November 13 to 17, 2022.

The expo was hosted as a means for Indonesia, other G20 member countries, as well as guest countries to showcase the latest technology in the midst of current global digital transformation.
