Sorong, W Papua (ANTARA) - Dutch-flagged sailing vessel, Dulce, reportedly lost contact in the Seget waters of Sorong District, West Papua Province, on Saturday, according to Indonesia's search and rescue agency.

The sailing vessel, carrying aboard three crew members, including a French citizen, was at position 1° 13' 15,03" S-131° 5' 0,13" E when it lost contact, Head of the SAR Agency-Sorong Office Amiruddin stated.

The ill-fated vessel departed from Sorong for Australia along with another sailing vessel, Sea Monkey, on Wednesday at 10 a.m. local time, he reported.

The agency had dispatched its ship, KN SAR Baladewa, along with several personnel, to locate the missing sailing vessel, he stated.

According to marinetraffic.com that ANTARA quoted on Saturday, Dulce originated from the port of Capelle Aan IJssel in the Netherlands.

As reported by the Marine Traffic Terrestrial Automatic Identification System on August 8, 2022, at 09:03 UTC, Dulce was located at UKC - North Sea at the position 51° 21' 48.3" N, 003° 11' 10.8" E.
