Jakarta (ANTARA) - State-run cellular operator Telkomsel unveiled the payment delay service Paylater to support consumers' access to digital service.

"This initiative aligns with the customer-centric principle that we always implement in presenting every latest product and service innovations," Planning and Transformation Director at Telkomsel Wong Soon Nam noted in a press statement, Tuesday.

The subsidiary of the State-Owned Enterprise (SOE) Telkom Group collaborates with a private company to offer the PayLater service.

Telkomsel PayLater is a premiere payment delay service from the cellular operator. Telkomsel views that the payment delay service can strengthen the national digital ecosystem, so that it can become more inclusive and sustainable.

"The presence of Telkomsel PayLater strengthens Telkomsel's commitment to bolstering the national digital finance ecosystem while also expediting the national finance inclusion through the use of the latest digital technology," Soon Nam stated.

Telkomsel's mission through the PayLater service is to have consumers receive access to the internet data package and other digital needs, such as streaming service.

Telkomsel PayLater can be used for various transactions within the MyTelkomsel application, such as internet data package and video streaming service subscription. PayLater service also applies for the purchase of Telkomsel Orbit.

Payment delay service registration can also be undertaken through the MyTelkomsel application. PayLater Telkomsel offers zero-percent interest for consumers that pay off their bills within less than 30 days.

Telkomsel believes that PayLater service can provide freedom for consumers to conduct various digital activities.

"Telkomsel is committed to opening broader collaboration opportunities in developing the digital finance sector and across different sectors of industries in Indonesia by optimizing the asset and network ecosystem that we have," he remarked.

The development of payment delay service and digital ecosystem growth are deemed to be able to drive the people's interest to conduct transactions in the digital space.
