Telkomsel is consistent and actively participates and contributes to the smooth implementation of the 43rd ASEAN Summit in Jakarta
Jakarta (ANTARA) - Cellular operator Telkomsel, a subsidiary of state-owned telecommunications enterprise Telkom Group, has optimized the cellular network to support the 43rd ASEAN Summit that will be held on September 5-7, 2023, in Jakarta.

"Telkomsel is consistent and actively participates and contributes to the smooth implementation of the 43rd ASEAN Summit in Jakarta," Telkomsel's Director of Networks, Nugroho, stated here on Friday.

According to Nugroho, Telkomsel supports the implementation of the ASEAN Summit, where bilateral meetings among state leaders will be held to strengthen the achievement of the ASEAN 2045 Vision by building ASEAN as a resilient institution.

To support telecommunications during the ASEAN Summit, Telkomsel has optimized the network capacity and quality of over 2,590 broadband Base Transceiver Station (BTS) towers.

The cellular operator has added 149 4G/LTE BTS and operated five Compact Mobile BTS (COMBAT) to anticipate a surge in communication traffic at several locations, such as accommodations, venues for the ASEAN Summit activities, the airport, and tourism destinations.

During the event, Telkomsel will also operate seven additional 5G BTS to expand the network coverage and provide an outstanding digital experience for the ASEAN Summit delegates.

"The upcoming 43rd ASEAN Summit in Jakarta will increase our contribution in supporting Indonesia's commitment to show its tremendous potential of industrial ecosystem transformation," Nugroho stated.

He noted that the ASEAN Summit is an opportunity for Telkomsel to showcase the country's digital capabilities, thereby attracting global strategic investment.

Furthermore, Telkomsel will set up customer service points at several locations, such as at the airport and the media center, to provide a good digital experience for the delegates.

Telkomsel's customer service points offer service for prepaid card and IMEI registrations, topping up balance and data packages, and activating access to 5G networks.
