People, whose TVs cannot yet receive digital TV broadcasts, can install a broadcast converter device in the form of a Set-Top-Box (STB).

This device enables the TV to receive digital TV broadcasts from UHF antennae signals earlier used for analog TV broadcasts.

It can be purchased either online on e-commerce platforms or in person at electronics stores.

In order to be guaranteed best quality, the people were suggested to buy set-top boxes certified by the ministry, he noted.

The imposition of ASO in other broadcast areas is owing to the implementation of ASO in the Greater Jakarta area.

In the Nielsen Audience Measurement report, it was noted that since the ASO policy begun on November 2, 2022, the rate of digital television broadcasts view in the Greater Jakarta Area had gradually increased by up to 70 percent.

This initiative has a significant influence on residents of other metropolitan cities to switch to digital broadcasting, with an average increase of 42-59 percent in the last three weeks.

ASO is expected to be adopted on a national scale, as increasingly more number of regions have thoroughly take up on digital TV broadcasts.
