"Kadin has a central role in Indonesia's economy. Therefore, we will become a strategic partner for the government and promoter in the progress of industry and trade on a regional, national, and global scale," Kadin chairperson Arsjad Rasjid said in a statement issued here on Saturday.
In line with the Golden Indonesia 2045 vision, Kadin, as a forum for big- and small-scale industries in Indonesia, will formulate an industrial road map to regulate the basis, direction, and strategy of each industrial and trade sector for realizing Indonesia's large economic system.
Specifically, the road map will target four main clusters—downstreaming, digital transformation, poverty alleviation and health, and green economy.
"This road map is being formulated so that all efforts, programs, and initiatives can be integrated and coordinated and directed at the 2045 development target. Together with all business players, both MSMEs (micro, small, and medium enterprises) and large businesses, Kadin will realize Indonesia's economic growth as the fourth highest in 2045," Rasjid informed.
He said that the formulation of the industrial road map will involve all components of the nation, including the regional chapters of Kadin, associations, academicians, and non-governmental organizations (NGOs), who will work to create an inclusive and collaborative strategy.
This will be done to ensure that the economic growth pushed by business players in the regions does not leave anyone behind and the growth, development envisaged in 2045, and welfare can be felt by all parties.
Earlier, at the inauguration of the Kadin National Leadership Meeting 2022, President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) noted that Indonesia's economy will, this year and next year, serve as a "bright spot" amidst the "gloom" that is being witnessed globally.
Given its 5.72-percent economic growth in the third quarter of 2022 and trade surplus of Rp714 trillion, which has now been recorded for 30 consecutive months, Indonesia has reason to be optimistic about its economic growth in 2023.
