The potential of many tourism villages has been found, and the economic potential that can be developed.
Denpasar, Bali (ANTARA) - The results of the Bali Resource Planning Census indicate the potential of each region, especially customary villages, the Bali Regional Research and Innovation Agency (Brida) has informed.

"The potential of many tourism villages has been found, and the economic potential that can be developed,” the head of government and regulatory affairs at Bali Brida, Ketut Wica, said here on Tuesday.

According to him, the Bali Resource Planning Census was conducted to develop an integrated system and compile data on customary villages' resources.

"Clear (comprehensive) data will make it easier to determine which customary villages can first qualify to be tourism villages. All the 1,493 villages have the opportunity to become tourism villages based on cultural arts and local wisdom," he said.

According to him, the data will make it easier for the Bali provincial government to make policies and take strategic measures for the development of customary villages in all districts/cities of Bali.

While disseminating information on the results of the census at the Bali Governor's Office, Wica explained how the comprehensive data can allow for the mapping of each village's potential.

He said the census was first carried out in 2021 and the potential of each of the 1,493 customary villages that have been analyzed is different.

The Bali Resource Planning Census is a priority program of the Bali provincial government, which aligns with the vision of Nangun Sat KerthiLoka Bali for realizing a prosperous Balinese life, both sekala (physical or worldly) and niskala (non-physical or non-worldly), he added.

There is a holistic order of life that consists of three main dimensions, namely maintaining the balance of nature, Balinese society and culture, and a natural Bali, he said.

"The most important thing is to be ready in anticipating the emergence of new problems and challenges at the local, national, and global levels that will have either a positive or negative impact in the future," he observed.
