Secretary General of the Public Works and Public Housing Ministry Muhammad Zainal Fatah stated that it was a form of support for the development of flats, so they would end up being of good quality, which were made through effective, efficient, and orderly administration.
"We expect that after the construction is complete, the flats can immediately be inhabited and utilized by each beneficiary, so that the buildings can function properly and can be used for a long period of time," Fatah noted in his statement here on Friday.
Based on the Public Works and Public Housing Minister's Decree Number 579/KPTS/M/2022, some 126 had been named as recipients of the flat assistance, comprising 12 flats for the regional government, 21 flats for ministries and institutions, 29 flats for higher education institutions, and 64 flats for boarding religious education institutions. The assistance comprised flats replete with infrastructure, utilities (PSU), and furniture.
On the occasion, the ministry and PT PLN also forged a cooperation agreement on electricity for housing development assistance and special housing.
Director General of Housing at the Public Works and Public Housing Ministry Iwan Suprijanto stated that this year, a joint commitment with PT PLN had been made to ensure the provision of electricity to apartments and special houses that had been built.
He noted that the list of flats that were still being constructed had also been recorded in the list, including that of the Batang Integrated Industrial Area (KIT) and the construction of flats in remote areas.
"We will synchronize development plans — both flats or special housing all across Indonesia — to also be coordinated with PT PLN, so that PT PLN also formulates a network development plan, because this also pertains to PLN quotas in each region," he concluded.
