Jakarta (ANTARA) - PT Pos Indonesia guarantees punctuality in distributing social assistance covering direct fuel oil cash assistance (BLT BBM) phase 2, Family Hope Program (PKH), and Non-Cash Food Assistance (BPNT) in underdeveloped, frontier, and outermost (3T) areas.

Director of the Financial Services Business of state-owned postal company PT Pos Indonesia Haris stated that his side was striving to deliver the assistance without exceeding the target set by the Ministry of Social Affairs at the end of December 2022.

"We have prepared our officers to map out the recipients' locations to the nearest post office. We have also coordinated with regional stakeholders to schedule the distribution. We are preparing transportation, coordinating with the relevant local government, and security forces as well," he noted in a written statement on Wednesday.

Hence, while reviewing the distribution of social assistance at the Batam Nagoya Plaza branch office and Batam Batu Aji branch office in Batam City, Haris expressed optimism that the BLT distribution in 3T areas would be on time since the officers were trained to overcome the challenges.

The nominal amount of BLT BBM funds given to beneficiary families (KPM) is Rp300 thousand for two months followed by the fourth quarter of basic food assistance for October, November, and December amounting to Rp200 thousand each per month, for a total of Rp600 thousand, and PKH, with a nominal ranging from Rp225 thousand to Rp3 million.

Head of the Social Assistance Task Force Hendra Sari stated that based on sound coordination, the distribution of social assistance almost reached 100 percent, with only three percent remaining that had not been distributed to beneficiaries in the 3T area.

Despite the distribution of social assistance to the 3T area being quite challenging, PT Pos Indonesia remains fully committed to delivering the government's mandate to KPM, and in fact, the team pays special attention to distribution in the 3T area, Sari remarked.

Since the start of the distribution, the team was projected to immediately schedule the disbursal and work closely with the local government and transportation providers that necessitated higher distribution costs than the aid received by the beneficiaries.

"This is a form of cross-subsidy, as the 3T areas are entitled to equal treatment. They are entitled to receive assistance quickly, and the same thing with areas that are easy to reach," Sari remarked.

Meanwhile, Deputy EVP Regional 1 Sumatra Fediyan Syahputra and Elan Pramudiansyah elaborated on additional data for the distribution of Phase 2 BLT BBM in Batam City. As of December 12, 2022, BLT BBM distribution that was accompanied by PKH social assistance and basic food needs had reached 97.69 percent.

Batam City received an allocation for the distribution of Phase 2 BLT BBM to 50,358 KPM. Of this figure, 49,196 KPM had received the aid.
